Oh My Goodness! The Universe at Work Right Here…

I bought my wedding dress last year from Oxfam. It was a beautiful vintage-inspired ex-sample designer dress that had been donated to them by a bridal gown boutique. I bagged a bargain!

However, I kept having doubts about the dress. I don’t know why. It was beautiful but it just wasn’t for me.

I continued with my search and found and purchased my dream dress recently. I put the one from Oxfam on eBay. I lost some money on it but I felt fine with that because at least the money had gone to Oxfam.

But the repayment has come back ten-fold just now when I read the eBay feedback that the bride-to-be that bought my dress has written…

“Dress arrived today sooo beautiful and fitted perfectly. I cried with joy”

The dress came to me for a reason. I bought it from Oxfam in Belper, Derbyshire and it is now with a very happy bride-to-be in Bournemouth.

How incredible is that?

Wow!

Wow!

Wooden Rose Posies!
I paid less than £100 for 1000 wooden roses from eBay as well as a batch of artificial grasses, rose perfume spray, curling ribbons and pull bows, all in the colours of my choice. I have made my bridal bouquet and six bridesmaid’s posies (as in the photo) and I have absolutely TONNES left over for table decorations, etc.

You’re a diva if you do and a diva if you don’t!
I’ve committed the age-old sin of changing my mind about the dress just 3 months before the big day. I was ever so proud too that I got it from Oxfam for just £125 (haggled down from £200). A vintage inspired ivory Mori Lee princess gown with an original tag price of around £700. The reason for the change of heart? I needed a different dress for the Scottish Ceilidh reception and during my search I found the dress of my dreams. An ex-sample gown from a couture boutique. An original tag price of £2200 for just £200 delivered. My lips are now sealed in case of prying eyes ;) x

My whimsical handmade invites are sitting pretty…
I used plain square cards (supplied with matching envelopes) purchased from eBay and embellished them with sheets of Vintage Rose backing papers, stick on pearls, Cuttlebugged card, foam rose buds, kraft luggage tags, pink ribbon and photocopies of vintage wedding photos from the internet. I designed the template and then my wonderful mother-in-law and aunt-in-law to be made the rest for me. Crafty ladies! ;)

The inserts have since been added and I am now awaiting the arrival of my ‘Money Poem’ cards that I’ve also ordered from eBay, so I can get them all written and sent off. Suppose I’d better get that guest list finalised!
